Resource with Mrs. Meier

To all my students: I miss you! This is uncharted territory for all of us, and while I would much rather be seeing your lovely smiles each day in the classroom, I am happy to know that we are making the safe choice to stay home and reduce contact with germs that could make us and others very sick.

I hope you all are having the opportunity to learn new things during this time, both through the lessons that we sent and also within your daily lives in your home. Your teachers and I have collaborated to create independent study packets with appropriate assignments to help build your knowledge and skills and provide important practice. I also encourage you to look at the lessons happening around you at home. Cooking with parents provides opportunities to read directions, measure ingredients, and spend time as a family. Ask your parents if they can turn on the subtitles on your TV so you can read the dialogue while listening to shows or movies. Studies show that being active helps our brain learn better and it is great for our health, so get outside and play, garden, or help out with housework or outdoor chores. There is so much potential to learn and grow every day if we take the time to be thoughtful about it.

If you need help or have any questions, please call or email me so we can make a plan to continue to support your learning. My email address is, or click HERE to contact me through the website. Since we have been advised to stay home, I will not be able to check my classroom phone often, so to get a hold of me by phone, call the office at (530) 679-2434 x201 and leave a message with Mrs. A to have Mrs. Meier return your call, along with your preferred number. Please feel free to reach out, even if it is just to say 'hello' or share about your life during this time.

Thank you, and I hope to hear from you all soon!
