Message From Superintendent & Principal

"Bangor Union Elementary School District is Butte County's Best Kept Secret!" We are a small, rural K-8 located approximately 11 miles south of Lake Oroville and 14 Southeast of downtown Oroville. Our dedicated staff is always aiming for the highest in academic excellence! With a truly committed and caring staff, we can help every student recognize their true potential both academically and socially. I am continuously working hard to support our faculty and guarantee that we, as a school, meet and exceed the rigorous Common Core Standards.  As the superintendent and principal, I am always open to input from the school community on how to continuously improve our school and its programs. We have a very dedicated and involved Governing Board who has the student’s best interests at heart. Please come and visit our wonderful school.

We are progressing with our instructional technology initiative here at Bangor School. We launched our WiFi and now have wireless access across campus for staff, students and guests. School guests are welcome to log on to our guest network, BangorGuest. Simply type in the password: studentsfirst to login.

Parent involvement is an important part of having a positive and safe  school climate and culture. We encourage parents to be involved with their student’s education as well as being in the loop of what activities are happening at school. We want our parents to be involved, but the school volunteer and check-in policy will be enforced at our school. All parents/guests must check into the front office before coming on to campus and get a visitor’s badge. Parent volunteers, athletic coaches and frequent campus visitors will be screened according to our volunteer policy and California education code. We do not want to deter our community members from being a part of our school community, but our number one goal is student safety. If you have any questions related to the volunteer policy feel free to contact the main office.

The Bangor staff wishes to communicate effectively with our parents and community. I encourage parents to communicate with school members by phone, email or in person. Please visit our school website at  Please go to the school directory and you can email staff members.
